Jupiter Design on Carbon Neutral Fleece Hoodie
Jupiter is the largest planet in this star system that Earthlings call "The Solar System". It is 10 times Earth's diameter and 318 times the mass. Jupiter has 95 moons but only the four largest can be seen from telescopes less than one meter in diameter. Io is a volcanic moon and yellow in color (lower left in the design) because most of its surface is covered in sulfuric ash. Ganymede (upper right) is the largest moon in the solar system and even larger than the planet Mercury. Next to it in this design, is the slightly smaller Callisto, which is still bigger than Earth's Moon. Finally, the 4th Galilean moon (named for their discoverer Galileo) is Europa, an ocean-world covered with a thick layer of ice.
If these moons happen to be positioned as in this design, you would not see Europa traveling in front of Jupiter even when using the Dark Rangers' biggest telescope. However, you might notice the black spot. That is Europa's shadow being cast on the surface of Jupiter. If you could somehow be in that shadow you would see a solar eclipse. Finally, the great red spot is known as the "The Great Red Spot" and is a famous storm on Jupiter's surface that has been raging for at least 350 years. Jupiter spins so fast that a day on the “King Planet” is only 10 hours. That means if you don't see that red spot, you either need a bigger telescope or you just have to wait a few hours for that side of Jupiter to face Earth again.
